Jillian is a native North Carolinian who spent many summers as a camper and counselor before growing up to become a Camp Manager! This is her 3rd summer at Camp Shelanu. Jillian loves Camp because every day presents opportunities to guide kids as they move through this complicated world as they practice values such as kindness, compassion and helping others, and develop 21st-century skills like teamwork and creative problem-solving. In her free time, Jillian enjoys making things, bowling, playing ukulele, and hanging out in savasana with her cat, Devo.

Madeline has worked at the JCC since 2010 and oversees kids and adults programming, family programs and events, childcare, and programs for people with special needs. She has two kiddos, a Lerner School preschooler and rising kinder-gardener. Madeline is the main contact for inclusion program year round.

Abbie is a proud preschool teacher at The Lerner School and has taught specialty camps at Camp Shelanu for several summers. She attended Camp Shalom, Camp Barney Goodman, and Camp Interlaken JCC and worked at camps during her college summers. She loves her kids, her dogs, swimming, indoor bike dancing, and big messy art projects!

Nikki is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and recently graduated with her MSW from UNC, completing a fellowship at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. She serves as adviser for the Judea Reform Congregation youth group, DRTY, and works with the Arc of the Triangle. In her free time, Nikki loves to read, stand up paddleboard and hike!

Returning for her third year with Camp Shelanu, Jen is a Speech and Language Pathologist in private practice who specializes in Social Thinking. She also has two kids.

Kieran is back for their third summer at Camp Shelanu! This summer as program coordinator, Kieran is especially excited to work on planning so many of the fun activities at camp and starting the camp day off with energy and excitement during Boker Tov. When they’re not at camp, they
enjoy reading, being with friends, and going on walks with their dog, Zane.

This is Sam's 13th summer working at camp and she is very excited to be back! She loves playing Pokémon, walking her dog and spending hours doing art outside of work. When she's not at Camp Shelanu, Sam is a preschool teacher at the Lerner school.

Danielle is a Special Education Teacher and currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree. She is excited to begin her camp experience with Camp Shelanu! In her free time she enjoys reading and watching documentaries.

Noga lives in Livnim, in the north of Israel. This is her first time in camp and she is very excited! In her free time, Noga loves to make art, hike, read and spend time with friends and family.

This is Shelly's first time at camp. She just finished her army service so she isn't studying yet, though she has a lot of hobbies as singing ,dancing , traveling and much more. Her favorite subject in school is psychology and she is really passionate about it.

Tzlil is 22 yrs old, and lives in a kibbutz in Israel. She loves writing, drawing, eating, jogging and her beautiful friends & family. And what would life be without music!
|Priya is so excited to be back at Camp Shelanu for her third summer! She will be attending Appalachian State University in the fall, majoring in elementary education. She loves to sing, and can’t wait to share the summer with everyone!|
|Carolina will be returning for her second year as an Inclusion Counselor. She is a Psychology major at Meredith College and doing coursework at their Autism Practicum. She loves cooking with her family, and writing.|
|Hannah E is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is studying to be an elementary teacher! This is her second summer at Camp Shelanu. She enjoys painting, spending time with friends, reading, listening to music, and being active.|
|Josh is returning for his fourth year at camp as an inclusion counselor! Josh goes to UNC Chapel Hill where he studies psychology and Jewish studies. He loves to watch and play basketball and listen to music.|
|Shir is a 3rd time counselor, back from his first year of college in Portland, Oregon, where he studies history. Shir loves theater, comedy, and all animals (besides lobsters). Ask Shir about his pet gecko, Polly!|
|Caroline is excited to be back for her second summer working at Camp Shelanu. She just completed her junior year at UNC Greensboro studying Community and Therapeutic Recreation. She is very passionate about inclusion and working with people with disabilities. She loves cookies, animals, the environment, and taking naps.|
|Taylor is excited to be back for her second year working at Camp Shelanu! She loves learning about astronomy and playing basketball.|
|Aidan will be spending his first summer at Camp Shelanu. He is a rising senior in high school and he loves history, skateboarding, playing tennis, working out, reading, and cooking in his spare time.|
|Annie is so happy to be a counselor this summer! This Will be her 3rd summer at camp. She is a raising junior and will be attending school in Israel next year. Her favorite camp activities are dance and art.|
|Audrey is a sophomore special education major at Appalachian State from Apex, NC. She loves hiking, listening to old music, and thrift shopping. She is excited for her first year at camp!|
|Bar will be working as a camp counselor at Camp Shelanu for the first time this summer. Her favorite subjects in school are world history and engineering. She is currently a rising Junior at Carrboro High School. Bar loves learning to program, hanging with her dog Abby, and playing the cello.|
|Eli is a first-year counselor this summer. His favorite school subject is chemistry, and he is looking to continue his love of chemistry in college. Eli also loves cooking for his family and friends!|
|Elizabeth is a rising senior at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough. She plays on her school soccer team and is involved in many clubs at her school. Some of Elizabeth’s favorite memories come from summer camp when she was little and she is excited to create memories like these with her campers.|
|Faith is a rising sophomore at High Point University studying Special Education. She has attended summer camps since childhood and has worked as a camp counselor since 2015. This is Faith's first summer at Camp Shelanu!|
|Katie has been going to camp her entire life and this is her first summer working at Camp Shelanu. She studies history and creative writing at the University of Rochester.|
|Liva spent the summer of 2017 working at JCamp in Raleigh and is excited to join us at Camp Shelanu this summer! Liva's favorite subjects in school are biology and math, and she is a competitive horseback rider.|
|Melissa has gone to camp almost her entire life and was inspired to be a counselor through previous counselors she’s had. She’s a rising senior in high school and enjoys spending time with friends. Melissa loves meeting new people.|
|Andrew is starting his college career in the fall at Appalachian state university. He attended many camps as a kid and most recently worked at Duke gardens summer camp as a volunteer. His favorite subject in school is English and he loves to read, swim and play basketball and guitar.|
|Chisom is joining Camp Shelanu for her first summer. She was born in Durham but was raised in Nigeria, before coming back last year. In her free time, Chisom loves doing arts & crafts and is excited to share in the summer camp experience.|
|Ava attends Research Triangle High school in Durham, NC, where her favorite subject is English. She enjoys playing soccer, singing, and making people laugh. She is incredibly excited for this summer, which will be her first at Camp Shelanu!|
|Graham is a rising junior at Riverside High School. This is Graham's first summer at Camp Shelanu, and he has participated in service projects at the JCC. He's a huge Latin nerd and loves being a part of the Engineering Program at Riverside. His hobbies include music, LEGO building, and taking care of his 5 chickens.|
|Jayda has worked at 2 summer camps in the past but this is her first summer with Camp Shelanu! Working with kids is her passion and she spent the last year working in Lerner School's afterschool program. Jayda is an elementary education major at NCCU here in Durham. Her hobbies include reading, hanging out and shopping.|
|Karyn is a Junior in high school from Mebane, North Carolina. When she's not working at Camp Shelanu you can usually find her in a coffee shop with a tea and a pal, at a concert, or playing any sport that doesn't involve a ball.|
|Sarah is a special needs education major with an art minor at Appalachian State. Her hobbies include paddle boarding, Netflix, quoting vines, and collecting record albums and memes. This is Sarah's first summer as a Camp Shelanu Inclusion counselor.|
|Olivia has been attending and loving summer camps for the majority of her life, and this is her first summer at Camp Shelanu! She is studying Human Development and Spanish at Eckerd College. Some of her favorite things to do are read and listen to music.|
|Logan is a first year counselor at Camp Shelanu. His favorite subjects in school are history and business law. Logan plays varsity soccer for Orange HS and club soccer for Mebane Youth Soccer Association.|
