Childcare Policies & Procedures:
Eligibility
- You must have a JCC All-Inclusive Family, Summer Family, All-Inclusive Adult with Dependents, or Summer Single Parent membership to use the childcare service for no charge.
- Children must be between 3 months and 4 years of age.
- If your child is sick, he or she may not come to childcare until he or she has gone 24 hours without vomiting, diarrhea, fever of 101 or higher, or a rash that may be contagious.
- If your child cannot be consoled or is causing disruption, we will contact you and ask you to please pick up your child immediately.
- If you do not follow all childcare policies, your privileges to use the childcare service may be suspended.
Scheduling
- Schedule online. If no one is signed up 24 hours ahead, staff may not be available.
- You can make an appointment up to 2 weeks in advance. Busy times may fill up, so sign up early.
- If you need to cancel your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so others may have your space.
- There is a 90 minute maximum.
- One staff person can accept 6 children and two staff can accept 12 children. For the safety and well-being of all children, please do not ask staff to go above these limits.
Arrival and pick up
- To use the childcare service, the parent/guardian must be in the facilities at all times and must notify the childcare staff of their location on the childcare check in/out sheet.
- Each parent/guardian must check in their child upon arrival and check out when leaving the childcare room.
- Please remove shoes in the childcare room.
- Please be prompt when picking up your child.
What to bring and what to leave at home
- You may want to bring a drink or snack for your child. We do not have a refrigerator. We do not supply snacks.
- Please label snacks.
- Snacks not allowed: PEANUTS or foods containing peanuts, lollipops
- Foods must comply with the Levin JCC Kashrut policy (no milk and meat together, no pork, no shellfish)
- All drinks must be in spill proof cups, no canned drinks please
- The childcare room does not store or prepare breast milk or formula. Please make sure your infant is well fed ahead of time.
- The childcare room staff does not change diapers. Please make sure your child has a clean diaper before arrival. If a diaper change is needed, we will contact you to pick up your child.
- If your child has been recently potty-trained, consider bringing a change of clothes – accidents happen in new environments.
- Please label all bags and car seats.
- Storage space is limited, so please do not bring strollers in. However, parents/guardians are encouraged to bring infant car seats for small infants to sleep/play in.
Private Babysitting policy
- Please do not ask childcare staff to babysit children outside of the JCC. It is against our policies for staff to do so.
- If you already have a babysitting arrangement, you are “grandfathered in,” but you must have an Unsanctioned Childcare Waiver on file.
JCC Kids’ Club for ages 4-9
Kids’ Club Policies and Procedures
Eligibility
- You must have a JCC All-Inclusive Family, Summer Family, All-Inclusive Adult with Dependents, or Summer Single Parent membership in good standing to use the Kids’ Club service for no charge.
- Children must be between 4 and 9 years of age, or in kindergarten through 5th grade.
- You may choose to sign your 4 year olds up for childcare room or Kids’ Club, based on interests, maturity, and siblings’ location.
- If your child is sick, he or she may not come to Kids’ Club until he or she has gone 24 hours without vomiting, diarrhea, fever of 101 or higher, or a rash that may be contagious.
- If your child is not following rules, we will contact you and ask you to please pick up your child immediately.
- If you do not follow all Kids’ Club policies, your privileges to use the Kids’ Club service may be suspended.
