No need to register. All Group Exercise classes are free for any JCC member. And every class is taught by nationally certified instructors.

Whether you’re looking to get in shape with fun, high-energy aerobics, or get out of your stressful day with soothing and relaxing Yoga, the Levin JCC provides a wide array of classes for endurance and strength, and for mind and body. The JCC is committed to providing workout classes for people of all ages and physical abilities – in a friendly and approachable environment. The Group Exercise program features drop-in group exercise classes that are free to members. All classes are held at our state-of-the-art fitness center in Durham, NC.

Classes include but are not limited to, indoor cycling, hard core and HIIT, group strength, Yoga, Mat Pilates, Barre, chair assisted classes, water aerobics during pool season, NIA, Zumba® and much more. Class format and time vary depending on attendance and instructor availability. Get in shape with a fun jujitsu workout, or try something new, like aerial silks. Whatever your interest, there’s something for everyone, and everyone is welcome!

Drop in Jujitsu

Jujitsu is the ancient Japanese art of self-defense. The techniques taught in the class include escapes, encounters, throw, holds (and for advanced students) joint manipulation. The focus of the class is self-defense, physical exercise, and perfection of technique.
Day and time: Fridays, 6-7:15pm
Ages: 13+

Ages: 14+Cost: drop in, $10 members, $12 guests

Aerial – Beginner:

Students learn to “fly” on fabric drapes, learning technique and building strength. Students work close to the ground in a safe, supportive environment. This is the right class for brand new students or those who have done aerial silks at camp or a birthday party but have never taken a session-based class.
Day and time: Mondays 7-8:30pm, Jan 14-Mar 18 and Apr 1-May 6

Cost:  10-week winter session $200/members, $245/guests, 5-week spring session $100/members, $125/guests

Aerial – Intermediate

Build skills, technique, and strength for more advanced moves.  For this class, you should know basic sling skills (straddle, gazelle, star, seat), be comfortable executing 3 basic footlock skills, be able to tuck, pike and arrow in wrist wraps with relative control, basic climbs, foot lock in the air, and cross back straddle, alone or assisted. This class will introduce a new climb, footlocks in the air, and skills from footlock on each foot.
Day and time: Tuesdays 5:45-7pm, Jan 15-Mar 19 and Apr 2-May 7

Aerial Conditioning  

Conditioning work on and off the silks to build strength and flexibility.  No experience necessary.
Day and time:  Thursdays 7-8pm, Jan 17-Mar 21 and Apr 4-May 9
